"I'll inherit Kelly's legacy." LG's history of foreign typing continues to be written by Austin

Each club has recently announced the renewal of contracts with foreign players. LG has also started counting the number of renewal announcements with Austin. "We will announce the contract with Austin soon," said an LG official. 먹튀검증

Once the official contract is announced, Austin will play in the LG Twins uniform for the third season. He signed a contract worth 700,000 U.S. dollars in 2023 for the first time in Korea and 1.3 million dollars (1.82 billion won) last year.

Austin broke the nightmare of a foreign hitter at LG. There were few foreign fielders who had good performances while wearing LG uniforms. Roberto Petazini (2008-09) and Luis Jimenez (2015-17) succeeded in recruiting foreign batters.

Among them, Jimenez was the only foreign hitter who played for three seasons while wearing the LG Twins uniform. Jimenez, however, stepped on the Korean soil as a substitute for Jack Hanna Han in 2015 and was substituted out in July 2017 due to an injury. The only season he played full time was in 2016.

Austin will challenge himself to play full time for three consecutive seasons. He has played in 279 games, the most among LG foreign hitters.

Austin received the Golden Glove award last year for the first time in 29 years as an LG player since Seo Yong-bin in 1994. He had a batting average of 0.319 with 32 homers and 132 RBIs in 140 games this season. He became the first LG player to rank No. 1 in RBIs (132). He is also the first LG player to surpass 30 to 100 RBIs in a batting average. He aims to win the Golden Glove award for the second consecutive year. His overall record in the KBO league is 0.316 with 55 homers and 227 RBIs.

Austin always said, "Team performance comes first before personal records. That's why I want to set a different record with more RBIs than any other record." He is also good at mingling with teammates. He respects Korean food and culture such as ssamjang and galbi.

Austin wants to remain LG's legendary foreign hitter. LG said goodbye to Casey Kelly, who accompanied him for six seasons, in July, when Austin told this newspaper, "I want to be remembered as a player like Kelly. I will inherit his legacy."

Austin said after winning the RBI king and defense award on the 26th, "I am very proud of giving LG the first RBI title," adding, "I was able to love baseball once again thanks to the constant love and support from fans over the past two years."
